NBC Offers Trump $60 Million for Next 'Apprentice'

Friday, 13 May 2011 11:43 AM EDT

Donald Trump could be walking away from a cool $60 million if he decides to run for the GOP presidential nomination. NBC is pushing the real estate magnate/reality show star to get off the dime on whether he will stay with his popular, and lucrative, “Apprentice” franchise or run for the highest office in the land, the New York Post reports.

Donald Trump, Apprentice, NBC, $60 millionTrump has indicated that he will announce his decision after the finale of “Celebrity Apprentice,” which airs on May 22. However, NBC wants to know before it presents its fall lineup Monday. Sources tell the Post that NBC has been “calling Trump every hour” with offers of $60 million to stay with the show.

That’s not just chump change, even for Trump. “American Idol” judges pull down about $10 million, and Simon Cowell, $30 million for the “X Factor.”

It’s unclear whether the $60 million is for one or more years, the Post reported.
