U.S. President Barack Obama is in the process of accepting 10,000 Middle East refugees into the United States. This move is not in the best interest of U.S. citizens. Regardless of the motivation of the president, the Democrats, and well-meaning Americans, open admissions of unvetted refugees promise a disaster.
A backlash is mounting against the refusal of Obama and many in the Democrat Party to acknowledge the dangers associated with the acceptance of any and all refugees and asylum-seekers. Radical Islamic terrorists are a reality, and it is high time for the silent majority in the United States to speak up.
The United States Refugee Law, Section 101 (a) (42) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), remains the law of the land. It provides that a person located outside the United States is admissible, if he/she demonstrates persecution or fear of persecution due to race, religion, national origin, political opinion, or as a member of a particular social group not permanently resettled in another country.
A person, entering the United States or attempting to do so at a border area, may allege that he/she is seeking asylum from persecution in that person’s native land. The Obama administration has permitted a commingling of refugee and asylum requirements to provide all foreign nationals easy access to the United States.
On Jan. 13, 2016, Secretary of State John Kerry, at of all places, the National Defense University, reaffirmed the Obama doctrine that expands refugee/asylum admissions. Thus, Obama, in the closing days of his administration, is opening the immigration doors to all comers, side-stepping the legal definition and requirements applicable to “refugees” or “asylum-seekers.”
Border crossers from Central America, South America, and Mexico currently claim “economic” or “poverty” refugee status, and the U.S. government, under the Obama administration, is allowing them to qualify for admission, work permits, and waivers for family members who then join them.
According to Obama and the Democratic Party, refugee asylum seekers, especially Muslims, are welcome under fear of war and/or persecution for religious belief claims. Such asylum seekers are entering with the expectation of family-unity provisions.
National security appears to have no place in the Obama vetting process. Refugees and asylum seekers with no documents to identify their names, political persuasion, military/terrorist connections, or radical activities are being waived in. The Boston marathon bombers and the San Bernardino female assassin are two recent results of the failed Obama vetting process.
Not all Middle East refugees are proving to be what they represent to be — poor persons escaping war. Newsmedia videos show healthy, well-dressed young men claiming to be “refugees” but carrying high-tech equipment, including smart-phones and computers, arriving in Greece and elsewhere. Poorly dressed women and children appear to be interspersed among them.
On Nov. 12, 2015, on ABC’s "Good Morning America" show, Barack Obama asserted that ISIS was not getting stronger and “we have contained them.”
On the next day, the recent Islamic terrorist attack took place in Paris, killing several hundred; its mastermind had arrived in France as a “refugee.” Surviving victims attest to the fact that the killers shouted “Allah akbar,” Arabic for “God is great,” as they shot down unarmed people.
The recent New Year’s Eve sexual assaults on German women in Cologne, and other locations caused German Chancellor Angela Merkel to state on Jan. 12, 2016, that Europe has to control its refugee crisis.
Gerd Müller, German economic minister, stated that this wave of Muslim refugees is just the beginning of many millions on the march to change Europe culturally, ethically, and religiously. On that same day, an ISIS suicide bomber, registered as a refugee, killed at least 10 tourists in Istanbul. The goal is a European caliphate. The recent shooter of a Philadelphia police officer claimed to be a “devout Muslim.”
Dressed in Arabic clothing, he admitted shooting the officer on behalf of ISIS, yet Obama and the Democrat mayor of Philadelphia refuse to acknowledge the shooting, recorded on film, as an Islamic terrorist attack.
The open-immigration policy of Obama and the Democratic Party is defended as “a cosmopolitan community right.” The sovereignty, culture, and heritage of the United States of America are being declared “morally irrelevant” characteristics of personhood or nationhood. The global community is out to trump America’s sovereignty.
In England, acquiescence to Shariah, radical Islamic law, is becoming a reality in British judicial and political life.
The Obama administration, during its two terms, has failed to properly vet or inspect refugees, asylum-seekers, visa applicants, or other immigrant applicants. U.S. voters need to recognize and undo the damage done by the Obama/Democratic vision for changing America.
