Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon and the owner of The Washington Post, has purchased the largest house in Washington, D.C.
The Post reported Bezos — whose wealth, according to Forbes, is $70 billion — is the new owner of the 27,000 square-foot Textile Museum. The building is reportedly being turned into a home.
The home is located in the Kalorama section of the nation's capital, which will also be the home of soon-to-be-former President Barack Obama and his family, along with Ivanka Trump and her family.
The home, The Post reported, sold Oct. 21 for $23 million to the Cherry Revocable Trust. Bezos and his family currently live in the Seattle area, where Amazon is based. The Post claimed Bezos will continue to live full time in Washington State, so his new D.C. house will be used for when he visits the area.
The old Textile Museum, located at 2320-2330 S Street NW, is actually two mansions next to each other. It was built in 1912.
