Charles Krauthammer and Ron Fournier took issue with President Barack Obama after he said Hamas "acts extraordinarily irresponsibly" by placing rockets in populated civilian areas of Gaza.
Obama made the comment during a press conference Wednesday at the conclusion of the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit in Washington.
Appearing on Fox News Channel's
"Special Report" just after the press conference ended, columnist Krauthammer called Obama's comments "lethargic and disinterested and detached."
"It's a bloody war crime," Krauthammer said about the actions of Hamas.
"I mean, there's no passion, there's no interest, there's nothing behind" Obama's words, he said.
Fournier, a journalist with National Journal, was on the panel with Krauthammer and added that for someone who is such a good writer, Obama has been "terribly ineffective."
"Frat boys are extraordinarily irresponsible. Hamas is a terrorist organization that's killing people," Fournier said. "Words matter when you're trying to lead a country and try to lead a world. I'm stunned by how poorly he uses them."
