What does a combative CNBC debate moderator do after locking horns with a GOP candidate on national television? Why post a selfie together, of course.
That's what CNBC contributor John Harwood did early Wednesday, posting a photo of himself with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at the GOP debate in Colorado.
The unlikely pair are seen smiling side-by-side in a photo on Harwood's Twitter account with the inscription: "fun w/guy who just ripped me on TV."
The tweet was posted at 8:17 a.m. ET, according the time stamp, though it is unclear if it was taken before or after the event.
Harwood and Christie sparred during the debate when the moderator interrupted the governor, who was addressing the issue of climate change.
"John, do you want me to answer or do you want to answer?" Christie barked. "Because I got to tell you the truth, even in New Jersey what you're doing is called rude."
Harwood and CNBC co-moderators Becky Quick and Carl Quintanilla have been sharply criticized for their contentious questions and lack of control.
