FBI officials will begin handing over "tens of thousands" of deleted emails from Hillary Clinton's private server to the State Department, according to the
Washington Examiner.
"I don't understand the need for all this time," Judge Emmet Sullivan said, since the
FBI closed the Clinton email investigation July 5.
The attorneys said the format of the emails took time. Some of them were deleted from the multiple servers Clinton used during her tenure as secretary of state.
The comments were made during a hearing on whether Clinton should submit for a deposition in a Freedom of Information Act case in which six of her aides have already submitted.
"No one has been able to testify under oath about why the system was created," Judicial Watch attorney Michael Bekesha said.
Clinton and her attorneys have argued that depositions from aides Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills would be sufficient. The Judicial Watch's lawyers said they have a narrow set of questions about Clinton's Freedom of Information Act obligations, and they would limit their questions to three hours, according to the Examiner.
Clinton's lawyers will appear in federal court to prevent a judge from ordering her to testify, according to
The Washington Post.
