President Donald Trump on Friday praised Fox News commentator Geraldo Rivera for slamming the media over its negative — and who declared: "Anything he does is construed in the worst possible light as evil."
On "Fox & Friends" earlier Friday, Rivera said that the reporting on Trump's comments to the Gold Star widow on Tuesday was "echoing what happened in Puerto Rico.
"In Puerto Rico, I saw with my eyes how the Puerto Rican people were responding to the president and the first lady," he told hosts Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade.
"And, then, I came home — and I saw the absolute 180-degree reporting on what I saw. Absolutely.
"I saw they loved them; the reporters here said they hated him. I saw how it was distorted.
"President Trump has the worst relationship with the media and the opposition ever," Rivera said. "Anything he does is construed in the worst possible light as evil.
"As some kind of secret motive. Some kind of manipulation.
"He gets no slack at all — and that's part of the reason we are so utterly divided now that even the most sacred event of honoring a hero becomes politicized.
"I think it's really, really terrible."
