The Obamacare online portal is still "a mess," New Hampshire Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte said during a meeting with business leaders on Monday, the
Huffington Post reported.
"All of the issues that you have raised show this right now to be a mess," Ayotte, a frequent critic of President Barack Obama's signature legislation, told Seacoast business leaders.
Ayotte's comment came as advocates for the Affordable Care Act said the government's healthcare website was back on track for the "vast majority" of people two months after its disastrous debut, which was riddled with computer glitches.
Jeffrey Zients, the Obama aide overseeing the HealthCare.gov portal, said the website can now handle 50,000 users at a time, which was the original goal. But he warned there was still work to do.
Bloomberg News reported Monday that about 100,000 people signed up for health insurance through the Obamacare website, a major increase from sign-ups in October.
