Sarah Palin, the Republican Party’s vice-presidential candidate in 2008, contends that Rep. Allen West should be considered for that role this year.
The former Alaska governor suggested that the freshman Florida congressman would be a good VP choice after she was asked during a Fox News interview whether she would consider another run at vice president.
"You know who I'd like to see considered for the VP slot is Colonel Allen West," Palin responded. "In this very tumultuous time across our world, someone who has served in our military or at least has intimate knowledge of the way the military works and should work, perhaps by having a close family member serve, someone like that."

"Colonel Allen West, who's been to the school of hard knocks, he should be the one who should be considered seriously for VP," Palin said.
Palin refused to say whether she would consider another vice-presidential try.
"It's not a no," Palin said. "What I'm saying is, if I were in a GOP presidential candidate's shoes, I would first look to Colonel Allen West."
Palin also dismissed any idea that she might be asked to run for president if the GOP contest boiled down to a brokered convention.
"I'm not going to be asked," Palin said. "If it results in a brokered convention, that is nothing to fear."
