Bill Clinton: Hillary 'Might Run for Something'

Bill Clinton: Hillary 'Might Run for Something'

By    |   Sunday, 27 April 2014 03:48 PM EDT

Former President Bill Clinton says no one cares what he says anymore – except, of course, when it comes to the fact that his wife might seek office.

"One of the sad things is, of course, since you don't have any power, nobody cares what you say – except if your wife might run for something you've got to avoid messing up too bad," Clinton said at an event Saturday.

CNN reports that Clinton made the comments at Michigan's annual Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner in Detroit.

The ex-president's remarks reinforce the common expectation that Hillary Clinton, former first lady, U.S. senator, and secretary of state, is mulling another White House run in 2016. Like other potential candidates, she has yet to announce.

Hillary Clinton is far out-polling other potential Democratic rivals, including Vice President Joe Biden. She was thought to be a shoo-in for the 2008 Democratic nomination, but lost to then Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois.
