The Clinton Foundation will be a drastically different operation if Hillary Clinton wins the presidential election, with outside parties being put in charge of its fundraising arm and its signature event grinding to a halt.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Bill and Chelsea Clinton will step away from leadership duties of the foundation if Clinton is victorious in November. Citing courses familiar with the foundation's future plans, the Journal claims the Clinton Global Initiative will end after this year.

The news was revealed at a staff meeting Thursday in New York City.

The changes would serve as an effort to demonstrate a President Hillary Clinton would not be influenced by any of the foundation's activities. The Journal reports that non-members of the Clinton family would run the foundation.

The Journal quotes Bill Clinton as sating in June, "You have to be careful to avoid actual and potential conflicts of interest. We'll think very clearly about it, and we'll do the right thing and explain it to the American people."

Earlier Thursday, the Associated Press reported that the Clinton Foundation would stop accepting donations from corporations and foreign governments if Clinton wins.

The foundation's activities have been under the microscope in recent months after claims of corruption surfaced. Some have accused Hillary Clinton of using her power as secretary of state from 2009-2013 to solicit donations in exchange for favors.
