President Donald Trump is hosting a private dinner for Republican "invited senators and spouses only" at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida this Friday, according to reports.
Punchbowl News posted a copy of the invitation.
GOP senators will already be in town for the National Republican Senatorial Committee's annual winter meeting, which begins Friday and runs through Sunday at The Breakers hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, roughly 5 miles up the road from Mar-a-Lago.
ABC News reported that the NRSC, now chaired by Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., broke a January fundraising record of $8.5 million, which helps to mitigate the $24 million in debt and unpaid bills the committee has on the books from the 2024 election cycle.
Friday's dinner, paid for the Republican National Committee, continues the pilgrimage of Republicans to Mar-a-Lago. Trump hosted scores of House Republicans to his estate for strategy meetings earlier this month, the same week that he hosted Republican governors to discuss his 2025 agenda.
Meanwhile, the RNC and NRSC already have their sights set on the 2026 midterms to keep and expand GOP control of Congress. RNC Chair Michael Whatley told Newsmax on Monday that the midterms started on Jan. 21, the day after Trump's inauguration.
In addition to defending key GOP Senate seats in Maine (Susan Collins) and North Carolina (Thom Tillis) in 2026, Republicans will look to pick up the seat in Michigan that's being vacated by Democrat Sen. Gary Peters, who announced he's not seeking reelection.
