Huma Abedin, a top aide to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, will be interviewed in a closed-door session before the House Select Committee on Benghazi on Friday,
CNN reports.
Abedin's appearance will be six days before Clinton, the current front-runner in the Democratic presidential race, will appear publicly.
Abedin's interview will not be a formal deposition, a committee source told CNN, and will be conducted by committee staff members since lawmakers are on recess this week.
Part of the panel's investigation is focusing on Clinton's use of a private email server during her tenure at State, and emails to and from Abedin have appeared in documents released by the State Department.
