Former CNN reporter Jim Acosta, who announced his departure from the network yesterday after it attempted to move him to a midnight slot, says President Donald Trump appears to be suffering from "Acosta Derangement Syndrome."
"Looks like somebody has ADS: Acosta Derangement Syndrome," Acosta posted on X Tuesday, along with Trump's post from Truth Social, where he called the journalist a "sleazebag" and said he'd been relegated to the "Death Valley" of cable news.
Trump and his supporters have often accused those who oppose him, including in the media, of suffering from "Trump Derangement Syndrome."
Acosta and Trump have been at odds for years, including with the journalist successfully filing a lawsuit after his White House Press Corps pass was revoked during the president's first administration.
When confirming his departure from the network Tuesday, Acosta said that it is "never a good time to bow down to a tyrant" and encouraged his audience not to "give in to the lies. Don't give in the fear. Hold on to the truth and to hope."
After he resigned, Acosta posted a live video on Substack and said he was going to work independently on the platform, calling his account "The Jim Acosta Show."
"To President Trump and his allies, you may think you have silenced me. But guess again. 'The Jim Acosta Show' is coming soon," he said.
