President Barack Obama’s policies have eroded the world’s trust and confidence and have shown that he’s in over his head as commander in chief, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum tells Newsmax.
"There’s a lack of confidence in America’s ability to lead and what we’re leaning toward," Santorum said.

Obama's failures run the gamut, according to Santorum, and include the volatile economy, the current healthcare debacle, and a dubious foreign policy record.
" . . . Every foreign leader just runs rings around him, including the Iranians most recently, to the detriment of our security," Santorum told Newsmax. "None of our allies trust him anymore."
Obama’s only solution to recharging the stagnant economy is "spend more federal dollars and tax people who create jobs," Santorum told Newsmax.
The silver living of the "incompetent" Obamacare legislation has been an awakening of the American people to see how Obama’s policies are harming the nation.
"The good thing about Obamacare and what’s happened for the average citizen, which has been a disaster for the average citizen, is now the average citizen actually gets to see what businesses have seen for years, which is government now coming in and saying 'We know what’s best for you and how to run your business.'"
Santorum, who ran as a Republican presidential candidate in 2012 but lost the party nomination to Mitt Romney, reiterated his long-touted advocacy of offering Americans tax credits and tax relief to buy health insurance, which he said would in turn create a competitive marketplace that would be forced to keep costs down.
"One of the biggest problems that Obamacare has, and frankly most the Democratic proposals that are out there, is they do nothing about controlling costs and they’re never going to do anything about controlling costs until we have the consumer involved in healthcare," he explained.
