CBS anchorman and "Face the Nation" host Bob Schieffer on Sunday called Anthony Weiner's behavior "sickening" and said the disgraced Democratic candidate should quit the New York mayor's race.

"Anthony Weiner is not an entertaining kook; he is a new-age flasher who has traded the traditional raincoat that can be opened to show his wares for a digital camera that enables him to expose himself to the world," Schieffer said.
Holding the most powerful municipal post in America is second only to that of the White House, which is why someone with Weiner's problems "has no business there and should leave the race," Schieffer said.
Dee Dee Myers, who served as press secretary to former President Bill Clinton, said that Weiner may still be in the race but his campaign is over. Last week, Weiner confirmed he had sent explicit texts to women even after he resigned from Congress for the same conduct.
"Voters, we found out, are willing to forgive people as long as the person is genuinely sorry and tries to change," said Myers, who left the Clinton White House after two years, before the Monica Lewinsky scandal occurred.
"Anthony Weiner has played voters for fools," Myers said. "The voters have had it. It's a shocking scandal that has turned the mayor race into a bit of a circus."
Myers was asked if Huma Abedin, who is married to Weiner and also serves as an advisor to Hillary Clinton, is taking a page from the former first lady's handbook and standing by her man.
"This isn't a story anybody, particularly the Clintons, is happy to see splashed all over the front pages and all over the news relentlessly," Myers said.
"And I think they, as much as anyone, would like to see this go away," Myers said. "If they could choose, it would certainly have Weiner get out of the race and Huma get on with her life."
ObamaCare: You Can Win With The Facts
David Gergen who served in the presidential administrations of Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and Clinton, called Weiner a "cyber creep" who ought to quit the race for the sake of the city, and also "for the sake of his wife who is a classy woman."
