Defense Secretary Jim Mattis warned Tuesday that North Korea's most recent ballistic missile test is a continuation of their program that will eventually put world peace in jeopardy.
The intercontinental ballistic missile fired off early Wednesday Korea time "went higher, frankly, than any previous shot they've taken," Mattis told reporters Tuesday at the White House, shortly after President Donald Trump delievered remarks on the latest actions.
"It's a research and development effort on their part to continue building ballistic missiles that can threaten everywhere in the world, basically," Mattis said. "If they continue the effort to build a ballistic missile threat, that endangers world peace and certainly the United States."
