Veteran political analyst Dick Morris tells
Newsmax TV that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is "stuck" in the email scandal because it's not going away.
"People get stuck in politics. The leading attribute of a politician is the ability to maneuver, but sometimes like [President Ronald] Reagan over Iran Contra and [President Richard] Nixon over Watergate, they get suck, and they can't maneuver," Morris told John Bachman and Miranda Khan on "America's Forum" on Thursday.
"Hillary now is in a final position, [claiming] 'I bought my own server, and I'm not letting you see it, and I've erased everything,'" Morris explained.
"That position is just one that's going to be untenable with the American people. Any kind of accusation against Hillary, people will say, 'It could be on her server, but she wiped it clean,'" he said.
"When it was first revealed that she kept her own private server, her rap was, 'Trust me, I did it just for convenience.' Now that she's wiped it clean, her rap is, 'It was none of your business anyway,'" he added.
In a
recent poll from Quinnipiac University, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul came out ahead of Clinton in Pennsylvania and Florida, which are important key swing states.
According to Morris, "the polling shows a significant impact among independents."
In addition, "a CBS poll showed that by almost three to two independents did not find her honest and trustworthy and you're going to see major drops in that."
Either way, Morris contends, "the important point about this though is she's stuck. There's no other development.
"When she goes out into the media, nobody is going to ask her about anything, but the email server," he explained.
"She's guaranteed that during this entire season of warm up and wind up to the presidential race, the only thing that's going to be talked about with Hillary is the emails," he said.
"She's taking shots without really answering for five months now, and there's a limited amount anybody can withstand that," he added.
Morris, who worked as political adviser to former President Bill Clinton, explained that "one of the reasons I turned against her was as I worked for her husband, I realized that almost every problem we faced politically was because Hillary would conceal something.
"God knows what she's concealing now."
