Niger Innis: Obama 'Shredding Constitution' With Executive Amnesty

By    |   Thursday, 20 November 2014 02:27 PM EST

President Barack Obama is "definitely shredding the Constitution" with planned executive action that will ease immigration laws that would otherwise require that millions of illegal immigrants be deported, says conservative activist Niger Innis.

"This president . . . has decided to double down not only in terms of policy, which is his right, but to double down with the way he manifests implementing policy as if he is some Third World banana republic dictator as opposed to the president of the U.S. under separation of powers and constitutional guidance," Innis, executive director of TheTeaParty.org, told J.D. Hayworth on "America's Forum" on Newsmax TV Thursday.

"He is definitely committed ideologically," he explained.

"Regardless of the verdict of the American people, Obama is still in love with what he believes and his vision for America, which is fundamental transformation," he said.

"History is not going to be kind to President Obama because, at the end of the day, he's going to prove to be one of the most divisive presidents in the history of our country since the Civil War," he contends.

According to Innis, this divisiveness didn't start with this executive action.

"You can also look to Ferguson, Missouri, and the mischief that he and his attorney general engaged in, in advance of knowing the facts, in advance of the verdict, in advance of who could very well be a person, Darren Wilson, that is not indicted," he explained.

The executive director of TheTeaParty.org, who is also the national spokesman for the Congress of Racial Equality, said that while he didn't vote for Obama, he "was hoping" that Obama would live up to the "image that he projected in 2004 at the Democratic Convention where he gave the keynote address — that he could be a healing presence for the races."

On the contrary, as he stated before, Innis added that "history will show that he's one of the most divisive presidents in the history of our country and that is a tragedy for our country."
