Rep. Meuser to Newsmax: Trump Will End Russia-Ukraine War

By    |   Tuesday, 21 January 2025 04:06 PM EST

Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Pa., told Newsmax on Tuesday that President Donald Trump has "sent the message" that he will end the war between Russia and Ukraine with a ceasefire agreement.

Trump said in remarks to reporters on Monday night that Russian President Vladimir Putin is "destroying Russia by not making a deal" to end the war.

"It's in his top four or five priorities," Meuser said on "American Agenda," when asked about whether Trump is focused on ending the conflict.

He went on to say that Trump "sent the message that it's going to be over. The message was to them, get ready to de-escalate both Russia and the Ukraine, work on the terms that you're going to be able to live with."

Meuser continued, "And yes, President Trump is going to not just get involved, [he'll] lead the way toward a peace accord and a ceasefire, and it will get done. And it does take some steps, but it will get done."

He added, "Listen, we all saw how determined, how transparent, how honest — how he's just simply not a phony. That's our president. And … he's going to deliver on his promises."
