Scottie Nell Hughes, who describes herself as an "official surrogate" with Donald Trump's presidential campaign, has been tapped as a political commentator by CNN.
The cable news' giant hire comes two weeks after it also brought axed Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski on board to comment on the election.
In a tweet that has since been deleted, Hughes announced her new gig by writing: "YUGE anncm 4 me today as 25yrs of hard work & study paid off. It all started w/ @piersmorgan @CNN #CNN #honored."
The message was accompanied by a video called "Making Dreams Great Again," which resembles a movie preview.
It listed numerous CNN staffers and network president Jeff Zucker in the "credits," according to
AdWeek's TV Newser blog, which has a screen shot of the video.
Hughes is also political editor of RightAlerts.com, a news blog that touts itself as delivering "breaking headlines without the liberal bias."
She has been a regular on various cable news channels over the years, including
Newsmax TV.
