New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is expected to join a new White House commission whose mission it will be to tackle the opioid epidemic in the U.S., according to reports.
The panel is part of a new White House Office of American Innovation, to be run by President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner.
Christie's role would be part time and would not require him to resign as governor, NJ.com reported.
The group also reported that Christie and Kushner have been working together for a few weeks already about the opioid epidemic, NJ.com reported.
Christie has made drug abuse — and restricting access to opioids — a top priority in his final year as governor.
