DNC's Wasserman Schultz: I Want to 'Get Trump a Pacifier'

Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said Thursday she's proud of Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders for running issues-driven campaigns, but she's tired of Donald Trump's whining about the delegate system.

"I really want to run down to the drugstore and get Donald Trump a pacifier, because all we hear on the other side is whining about the rules and process and 'they are going to take something away from me,'" she told CNN's Chris Cuomo on the "New Day" program.

"The American people, the people casting their vote for president, they want to hear about the ideas each candidate has to make sure we can help them succeed, and that's what I am confident we will hear from our candidates tonight," she continued, speaking about the debate set for Thursday night in Brooklyn, New York.
 
However, the delegate system is causing concern for the Sanders campaign as well, including the use of superdelegates that will push Clinton's nomination forward.

Sanders' wife, Jane, told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" program that she wouldn't call the system "rigged," but there are problems with the current rules. 

Wasserman Schultz pointed out that the superdelegates are "up for grabs all the way until we get to the convention," but she urged candidates' supporters not to go too far when trying to lure the delegates to their side.

"Using tactics that border on harassment and feel like stalking is really something that I hope our campaigns really condemn," said Wasserman Schultz.

"Making sure we have appropriate contact and outreach is just great, but intimidation is not okay and I am not suggesting that that's occurring right now, but I think we need to make sure that we are careful about how we persuade."

But she does not think there will be a contested convention, and there will become a "presumptive nominee" without the need of superdelegates.
