Donald Trump and President Barack Obama "have been talking regularly on a number of issues" since the election, senior adviser Kellyanne Conway said Sunday.

In an interview on NBC News' "Meet The Press," Conway, who was the president-elect's campaign manager and now is on his transition team, said Trump and Obama have talked as recently as Saturday.

"Leaders listen, they learn, they take the counsel of many people," she said. "And he has been talking to President Obama beyond the sit down they had 30 hours or so after President-elect Trump won the election. They have been talking regularly on a number of issues."

One phone exchange lasted "about 40 to 45 minutes," she said.

"I can tell you from President-elect Trump's side that he very much enjoys speaking with President Obama, talking about the serious issues that face this country and the world," she said. "They get along nicely. They disagree on many things. That isn't going to change. There's a respect and a respect for the process and peaceful transition of power. "
