Some NBC staffers knew about the explosive 2005 hot-mic videotape of Donald Trump in August – because "Today" host Billy Bush bragged about it, the New York Post reported.

According to the Post's Page Six, the former "Access Hollywood" host boasted at a party at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro he had a "tape of Trump being a real dog," triggering a hunt for the film.

"Billy was bragging about the tape to other NBC staff while in Rio," an unnamed source told the Post. "If he knew about the tape, and remembered the full extent of such an explosive conversation with a presidential candidate and didn’t disclose that to NBC News, that is a very, very serious problem."

The source it could violate the "morality clause" in the star's contract.

Bush could also be investigated by NBC for any signs of possible workplace sexual harassment because of the sexually charged comments Trump made about Bush's former "Access Hollywood" co-host Nancy O'Dell, the Post reported.

A review of Bush's actions is under way, the Post reported.
