Donald Trump did in fact oppose the Iraq War, despite public claims he made that say otherwise.
Fox News anchor Sean Hannity confirmed in a tweet Monday evening he and Trump, the Republican candidate for president, used to argue about the Iraq War back in 2003 when it began.
Hannity said Trump was not in favor of it when asked by Erik Wemple of The Washington Post.
Trump said Sunday night during an interview on Fox News' "Mediabuzz" with Howard Kurtz that he and Hannity would debate the Iraq War in private conversations.
"Speak to Sean Hannity, who's a terrific guy by the way, speak to him, and he and I used to have arguments about the Iraq War," Trump said. "We used to have arguments about it, big arguments, and you could speak to Sean, and that was before the war started."
Trump reportedly said during a 2002 interview on Howard Stern's radio show he was in favor of the Iraq War. Trump claims in other interviews closer to the start of the war, he said he was against it.
