Two GOP chairmen pushed back on criticism from within their own party that House Republicans came up with an Affordable Care Act replacement plan that's "Obamacare lite."
"This is Obamacare Gone," Rep. Kevin Brady, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, said Tuesday, the Washington Examiner reported.
The plan put forward by House Republicans has elicited criticism from the Freedom Caucus and conservative think tanks like Heritage Action and Club for Growth.
Brady and House Energy and Commerce chair Greg Walden think Republicans will eventually come around to the plan, the Examiner reported.
One big issue for conservatives — how much the replacement plan will cost.
Brady said the Congressional Budget Office would score the plan before the legislation goes to the House floor, the Examiner reported.
"We can act now, or we can keep fiddling around and squander this opportunity," Brady said. "House Republicans are choosing to act now."
