Former President George W. Bush will make a rare political appearance on Wednesday at a Dallas fundraiser for Right to Rise, the super-PAC created by his brother, likely Republican presidential hopeful Jeb Bush, The Dallas Morning News reports.

Big-name campaign donors in Texas who supported the former president are gathering at the home of a Dallas banker on Wednesday for a reception featuring Jeb, George and former first lady Laura Bush, Christy Hoppe writes in the Morning News campaign blog, "Trail Blazers."

The invitation challenges guests to donate or bundle anywhere from $5,000 per person up to $100,000 per couple. Attendees will include traditional "big backers of establishment Republicans in Texas," including real estate developer Woody Hunt, oil executive T. Boone Pickens and former U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, writes Hoppe.

The fundraiser will be the former president's first appearance on behalf of his brother's new political action committee, The Associated Press reports.

The former Florida governor formed Right to Rise in January to raise and spend money on political activities including the presidential campaign he is actively exploring.

News of the Bush fundraiser surfaced on Monday, the same day Texas Sen. Ted Cruz  became the first Republican to officially enter the 2016 presidential race.

"While not yet formally announced, Jeb Bush already has harnessed top national political advisers and is showing that he can challenge the Texans for Lone Star cash," writes Hoppe.
