Donald Trump's campaign has fired off a not-so-subtle salvo at Hillary Clinton, warning her the billionaire developer is prepared to raise the specter of Monica Lewinsky as the presidential campaign progresses.
Speaking in
"MSNBC Live," Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson said whether Trump resurrects the scandal involving the woman who Bill Clinton had a sexual dalliance with as president in the mid-1990s "depends on Hillary Clinton."
"This came about because she called Donald Trump 'a sexist. It boggles my mind that if a woman is criticized, all of a sudden that makes you a sexist. That is simply not the case," Pierson said.
A few months ago, Trump lashed out at Clinton, saying: "She wants to accuse me of things and her husband is one of the great abusers of the world? Give me a break." But he's stayed away from the subject since then — at least for now.
"If Hillary Clinton or her team wants to go after Donald Trump as a sexist, then he will absolutely bring up that topic because there's a lot to discuss that was not brought out into the public," Pierson said.
