Kellyanne Conway on Wednesday waged an assault on Republican lawmakers for not keeping up with President Donald Trump's achievements, including failing in their promises to pass "simple things" like healthcare.
A guest on Fox News' "America's Newsroom," Conway said the president "certainly hopes" he has Republicans on his side while characterizing GOP lawmakers as part of the swamp.
"Remember, they're the ones who promised their constituents they would do some simple things like repeal and replace Obamacare, get real tax reform and tax relief for their constituents, put ISIS in retreat if not full-on defeat and keep us safe and prosperous," Conway told Fox News.
Conway criticized Republican lawmakers for wanting to move on to tax reform after failing to pass repeal legislation.
"Why can't we do both? This is always the problem in Washington, D.C. — the swamp only wants to do one thing at a time, take forever to get it done to execute on it," Conway said.
"Look at the difference between the accomplishments this president has been able to achieve in his first six months or so in office versus what has been done legislatively. It doesn't even compare."
Conway said the excuses are over for Republicans.
"I would say it's causation, not coincidence, that we have a Republican House, Senate, White House, most of the state legislatures and the majority of the governors," Conway said.
"I think people will say they are sick of divided government. And so the excuse of divided government is over," Conway said.
