The field director for the Democratic National Committee at the end of 2016 has gained endorsements for the vice chairmanship of the committee, according to Politico.
Adam Parkhomenko is also the co-founder and executive director of Ready for Hillary PAC.
"His passion for organizing and his commitment to the volunteers and grassroots activists who power our state parties ensures that every Democrat will have a voice at the DNC," according to a joint statement in Politico from five leaders of state Democratic committees: Massachusetts chairman Gus Bickford, Montana chairman Jim Larson, Minnesota chairman Ken Martin, Virginia chairwoman Susan Swecker, and Washington, D.C. chairwoman Anita Bonds.
Only the 447 members of the Democratic National Committee vote in the Feb. 25 election, which will also choose the chairmanship of the DNC, Politico reports.
Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison is considered a top contender for the chairmanship, but he has drawn fire from organizations that have called Ellison, a Muslim, an "anti-Semite."
Idaho's Democratic Party Executive Director Sally Boynton Brown has also pitched herself as a candidate for the chairmanship. "I think we need someone who knows how to manage people and processes along with that," she said in December.
