The Donald Trump campaign has hired a former Ted Cruz staffer to lead the spreading of his campaign message and his interactions with the news media,
Bloomberg Politics reports.
Jason Miller served as the senior communications adviser for Cruz's presidential campaign. He is the highest-ranking member of Cruz's campaign to join Trump, while his old boss and many of his fellow staffers on that campaign have yet to back the presumptive nominee,
CNN notes.
Miller's hiring is not seen as portending a Cruz move toward Trump. Bloomberg quoted Cruz insiders as saying Miller's action are not linked to any plans by the Texas senator dubbed "Lyin' Ted" by Trump during the contentious primary season.
Some inside Trump's campaign have wanted to hire someone to work with campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks for some time, but others preferred to stick to Trump's to-then successful strategy of an unconventional campaign with a smaller staff.
