Donald Trump's brand-new senior communications adviser — an ex-staffer in the Sen. Ted Cruz campaign – mercilessly mocked the real estate mogul during the bruising primaries, branding him #SleazyDonald in several Twitter bombs, the liberal blog Think Progress reports

The acid-tipped tweets from Jason Miller were deleted when Trump clinched the nomination in May, but ThinkProgress reports it was able to recover cached versions of Miller's deleted anti-Trump tweets. The cache was then reprinted Tuesday by Business Insider

Business Insider reports it's still unclear if the Trump campaign was aware of the tweets, and hadn't returned a request for comment.

The communications veteran — he also helped guide GOP campaigns before, including Rudy Giuliani's 2008 presidential campaign — was announced as a new hire Tuesday morning, and his flare is on full display in the newly dredged up posts.
  • On March 30, Miller blasted Trump as "the Carl Lewis of flip-flopping" after he raised eyebrows with his views on abortion rights
  • On April 27, Miller tweeted out a query on "which lobbyist wrote Donald Trump's foreign policy speech today," after the candidate delivered an address
  • On March 25, Miller fired off a series of tweets and retweets under the hashtag #Sleazy Donald, triggered by a nasty fight between Trump and Cruz over pictures of their wives
  • On April 19, Miller laid into Trump for lapsed FAA licensing on his private plane, mocking the jet as "the Trump University of the skies."
The most recent tweet was dated May 2, a retweet and comment about a supposed Trump contribution to Kamala Harris, California's Democratic attorney general.
