Donald Trump on Saturday told the Washington Post that his healthcare plan will have "lower numbers, much lower deductibles," and, "insurance for everybody."

"We're going to have insurance for everybody," Trump said. "There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can't pay for it, you don't get it. That's not going to happen with us."

The president-elect said his plan was "very much formulated down to the final strokes."

"We haven't put it in quite yet but we're going to be doing it soon," Trump told the Post, noting that he is waiting for Rep. Tom Price to be confirmed as secretary of health and human services.

Republicans started the process to repeal the Affordable Care Act in early January but have come under fire for not publicly offering a replacement plan. Trump ran on the campaign promise that he would repeal and replace Obamacare, but later softened his stance, stating that there were a few pieces of the ACA that he wanted to keep.

He said getting approval from Democrats wouldn't be an issue.

"I think we will get approval. I won't tell you how, but we will get approval," Trump said.
