House Democrats were fuming over the actions of FBI Director James Comey after a confidential briefing on Russia's election campaign hacking, The Hill reports.

"I was non-judgmental until the last 15 minutes," Rep. Tim Walz, D-Minn., said after the meeting. "I no longer have that confidence in him.

"Some of the things that were revealed in this classified briefing — my confidence has been shook."

And The Hill reports that a visibly annoyed Rep. Charlie Christ, D-Fla., added: "I want to (have faith in Comey). I have concerns. Stay tuned."

And Rep. Mark Takano, D-Calif., added "I'll just — I'm very angry."

The Hill notes Comey has been under fire after he announced late in the presidential campaign the FBI was again investigating Hillary Clinton's emails.

The Justice Department's inspector general is currently reviewing the agency's actions leading up to the election.

Despite the comments from Democrats, Republicans continue to defend Comey.

"The FBI director is a good man who was placed in a very difficult position," said Rep. Charlie Dent R-Pa.

Some Democrats were cautious about Comey's future, according to The Hill.

"Do I have confidence in him?" said one Democrat speaking anonymously. "Not really. But I think he's probably going to be better than the guy they'd put in."

The Wall Street Journal has called on Comey to resign.

"If Mr. Comey declines, Donald Trump can and should fire him," the newspaper said.
