Former Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman has endorsed Democrat Hillary Clinton for president after considering Republican Donald Trump, The Hill reports.
The former Democratic and independent senator made the announcement Wednesday on Fox Business Network's "Mornings with Maria."
"I'm one of those people, and there are a lot of us, who don't quite feel comfortable either way yet," Lieberman told Fox Business just last week, noting that he has been involved with the No Labels group that contains former members of both major parties.
Lieberman was tapped by Vice President Al Gore as his running mate in 2000 when Gore was the Democratic presidential nominee.
But the hawkish Lieberman lost a primary battle in 2006 and won re-election to his Senate seat as an independent. He backed Republican Sen. John McCain for president in 2008.
