Sarah Palin slammed establishment Republicans Friday for their opposition to presumptive nominee Donald Trump — giving their movement a new name in a speech introducing the presumptive nominee at the Western Conservative Summit in Denver.
"I just call them 'Republicans Against Trump' — or 'RAT' for short," the 2008 vice presidential nominee told about 2,000 cheering supporters at the Colorado Convention Center,
KUSA-TV9 reports.
The "RAT" comments can be heard around the 11:38 mark in the video posted above.
The former Alaska governor also praised Trump as the candidate who would have never been chosen by "the loser consultants."
"We found a messenger and he wasn't found among the politicians," Palin said.
About 200 demonstrators showed up outside the convention center, and three were arrested,
The Denver Post reports.
Palin suggested that Trump should have spoken at one of his construction sites because the "protestors would never turn up at a job site."
In bashing Democrats for their attacks on the GOP for waging a "war against women," Palin bashed their presumptive candidate, Hillary Clinton.
"They have tried that tired, worn, war-on-women warpath to jump on," she said, according to the TV report. "I ask, Trump supporters, 'We're anti-woman?' ... [An] anti-Liberal woman … blew it in Benghazi.
"We're talking about the direction our country, our children's future, the direction of the Supreme Court — all of this inching on the next election," Palin added. "At such a time as this, you cannot be lukewarm.
"We're going to take our country back — and you're either with us or against us."
In his speech, Trump said that former President Bill Clinton "opened up a Pandora's box" with his meeting Monday with Attorney General Loretta Lynch aboard her private plane on the tarmac at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix.
He also bashed Hillary Clinton on trade and reiterated his longstanding campaign promise to build a wall at the U.S. border with Mexico to fight illegal immigration.
"We're building the wall," Trump said, TV9 reports. "The wall is necessary.
"We're going to have a great relationship with Mexico."
