Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said Tuesday that Bernie Sanders has no path to the Democratic nomination and that he should unite behind Hillary Clinton for the sake of the nation.
"No, I do not," the Nevada senator responded when asked if he saw any way for Sanders to defeat Clinton, CNN reports.
"Do you think he should shift his campaign to be more about unity?" another reporter asked.
"I have every confidence, it's the issue not him, it's the country," Reid said.
Polls are showing that Clinton is leading Sanders in four of the five states holding primaries on Tuesday — Connecticut, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island —
The New York Times reports.
Voters are also going to the polls in Delaware.
Sanders currently has 1,192 delegates, compared to Clinton's 1,946.
