Trump: Mark Cuban 'Not Smart Enough to Run for President'

By    |   Sunday, 12 February 2017 10:12 AM EST

A simmering feud between President Donald Trump and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban might be nearing a boiling point, as Trump lashed out Sunday at the billionaire via Twitter, saying Cuban lacks the intelligence to beat him in 2020.

Trump's tweet came after a Sunday morning report in the New York Post claimed "Trump is obsessed with running for re-election" and the "White House’s 'biggest fear' is that Cuban, a billionaire businessman, would run because he can appeal to Republicans and independents," according to sources.

"He's not a typical candidate," a source told the Post. "He appeals to a lot of people the same way Trump did.

"If you believe in the Trump revolution, you can believe a candidate like Mark Cuban could win an election. And Mark is the kind of guy who would drop half a billion dollars of his own money on the race."

Cuban told TMZ about Trump this week"some of his policies are fine," but "I don't think he'll last four years."

Cuban told CBS  in late September, "there's no possible way, there's just no way," he would run for president because of the "shinola show" he would not put his family through.
