Rep. Maxine Waters on Saturday during a tax march pushing for Donald Trump to release his tax returns said she will fight every day until the president is impeached, Essence reports.

"I don't respect this president. I don't trust this president. He's not working in the best interests of the American people," Waters said at a rally in Washington, D.C.. "I will fight every day until he is impeached."

Waters helped lead chants of "Impeach 45" at the protest, one of more than 150 planned across the country. The Democratic congresswoman also called Trump a spendthrift when it comes to U.S. taxpayers' money.

"We know one thing, you do know you know something about taxes," she said. "Donald Trump, you sure know how to spend our taxes on your weekly trips to Mar-a-Lago."

Trump made his seventh trip to his Florida resort this weekend, a trip estimated at $3 million according to reports.

Waters has spoken out publicly about her distaste for Trump and his Cabinet - in late March she called them a bunch of "scumbags" when asked about ties to Russia.

"I just think the American people had better understand what's going on. This is a bunch of scumbags. That's what they are. Who are all organized around making money," she said.
