Neo-Cons? What About the Neo-Commies?

Thursday, 01 May 2003 12:00 AM EDT

Neo-Con. Now there’s a word that has popped into the public consciousness faster than, “gravitas.” What the heck does it mean? Naturally, the literal translation is “new conservative,” but those who use it make it sound like an insult. I picture the Democratic brainstorming meeting, led by James Carville.

(Insert dream sequence music here)

CARVILLE: “Okay, y’all, we gotta come up with somethin’ quick. Them darn Republicans and that illegitimate president of theirs is doin’ everything right. We need to get some kind of word that’s gonna make them stupid people in fly-over country think the Republicans are evil and we’re the good guys. To be honest, that word liberal has been killin’ us since Michael Dukakis. You got any ideas, boys?”

TERRY McAULIFFE: What if we shorten the word Conservative to Con, like a con job?

CARVILLE: Now, that there’s a good un! What else?

TIM ROBBINS: Who’s the biggest con man of all? Hitler! You know, the way he conned the Germans into following him. Let’s try to connect the Reps to the Nazis. If you ask me, I think Republicans are like neo-Nazis.

CARVILLE: Neo-Nazis? Hmmmmm, how about Neo-Cons? … NEO-CONS! That’s it!! I LOVE IT! We’ll link all the Republicans with the neo-Nazi movement. PERFECT – now tell all your useful idiots to use this word every chance they get.

Well … it may not have gone exactly like that. But it might have. The truth is that the more you watch the left at work, the more you see that they aren't acting like classical liberals anymore. The philosophy they preach is really good old-fashioned communism.

Nobody uses the word "communism" anymore, but maybe we should bring it back to expose today's "liberals" for what they are: "Neo-Commies."

Isn’t communism dead, you ask? No, communism is socialism run by communists. And socialism, in the United States, is simply "liberalism." Socialist presidential candidate Norman Thomas once said:

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism.

The “Neo-Commies” are alive and well. We saw them in the streets protesting. We hear them in Congress and state legislatures demanding more social programs. They call for bigger government, more centralized control, more money for education, a safety net for everyone and a never-ending litany of handouts and “feel-goodies.”

We even have the governor of Illinois talking about seizing private property owned by casinos because his state “needs” the money.

None of these ideas or programs are mentioned in the U.S. Constitution. When was the last time you heard a “Neo-Commie” talk about personal responsibility?

“Don’t worry, the state will take care of you,” they say. Karl Marx would have been proud to see the direction we are being taken in by the “Neo-Commies.”

In November 1987, when Reagan's influence was at its peak and the USSR was straining at the seams from sanctions,

"Gentlemen, comrades, do not be concerned about all you hear about glasnost and perestroika and democracy in the coming years. These are primarily for outward consumption. There will be no significant internal change within the Soviet Union, other than for cosmetic purposes.

Communism isn't even dead in the Soviet Union. Is communism in Soviet Russia dead because they say it is? Pay no attention to the fact that all the former communists say they are no longer communists even while they continue to run that country. As Gorbachev said to the Politburo, their purpose is to "

The communist wing in America hides under the guise of "liberalism." Wake up, Americans! Your country needs you. Educate yourself; learn to expose them for what they are. Exposure, like light to a vampire, can ultimately stop the "Neo-Coms."
