The College Fix has identified another of those college "courses" that make one wonder just why mom and dad worked so hard to get junior in college.

This time it’s "White Identity Politics" being offered by Stanford University in California. At over $16,000 each semester for tuition, "White Identity Politics" doesn’t appear to have a lot to offer to any student who doesn’t plan to go into teaching at a left-wing university or have a frank conversation about race as they hand over a fresh latte.

And even for those students it looks like a few semester hours of listening to the pastor preach to the choir.

The course description of these indoctrination classes always makes for illuminating reading and this is no exception. According to The College Fix, "Questions to be posed throughout the semester include, "Does white identity politics exist?" and "How is a concept like white identity to be understood in relation to white nationalism, white supremacy, white privilege, and whiteness?"

Once they are through pondering those timeless questions, students will spend the rest of their class period earning 3 to 5 units cogitating the really big issues, " . . . the perils and possibilities of different political practices including abolishing whiteness or coming to terms with white identity."

"Abolishing whiteness" sounds ominous to those of us from the pale persuasion. Is the instructor going to advocate or urge currently "white" people to make the move to translucence?

Naturally, when contacted for a comment, the course leader dodged any interaction with a news outlet that didn’t toe the leftist line and directed the reporter to Stanford’s public relations office.

It would be interesting if college courses posted attendance figures like football games and Hollywood movies. The presumed failure of white students to pay their parent’s good money for this expensive weekly psychological torture won’t be an indication to university curriculum supervisors that the course is exclusionary and hostile.

Instead white absence will be taken as proof that white students are bigots and would probably benefit from the type of mandatory self-criticism and re-education sessions that proved so successful after the fall of South Vietnam.

When the fact is this course is teaching racism and hatred of white people as a solution to the failure of the left to create "equality" and "social justice." In short, just agreeing to offer the class this fall means the Klan of the left has won; at least in California.
