Fayetteville may be one of the most patriotic communities in America. For one thing, it’s known as the unofficial home of the U.S. military because of its proximity to Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base. It’s also the seat of Cumberland County, dubbed “World’s First Sanctuary for Soldiers” to show the country that soldiers and their families can feel safe, secure, and cared for here. It’s also home to appealing small-town amenities, historic buildings, and independent shops, as well as the Airborne & Special Operations Museum.
