'The Sopranos' Blu-Ray Boxed Set To Include All 6 Seasons, Bonus

All six seasons of "The Sopranos," ranked as one of the best television series of all time, is coming to Blu-ray discs for the first time in a boxed set Nov. 4.

The James Gandolfini-led drama about the menacing but troubled New Jersey mobster and his family will be featured on 28 Blu-ray discs with all 86 episodes along with artwork from the series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The series, which originally aired on HBO from 1999 to 2007, will include cast interviews and a feature examining the legacy and impact of the series, reported Entertainment Tonight. In all, fans will be able to view five hours of bonus content.

One of the new features, "Defining a Television Landmark," includes interviews with celebrities, filmmakers and academics about the show's mark on entertainment. Series creator David Chase, the late Gandolfini, Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh, Emmy-winner Jeff Daniels and Golden Globe winner Steve Buscemi all talk about "The Sopranos'" influence, noted Entertainment Tonight.

Last year, "The Sopranos" was named the best-written television series of all time by the Writers Guild of America East and West.

The list, compiled through polls of film and TV writers, included "Seinfeld," "The Twilight Zone," "All in the Family," and "MASH" along with "The Sopranos" in its top five.

Chase is still answering questions about the series controversial final episode, when the show went to black in a tension-filled scene where Tony Soprano was eating at a diner with his family.

Forbes reported last month that Chase said during a recent screening at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, New York, "Did Tony get killed in the diner or did he not get killed? I'm not trying to be coy about it. It's not the point if he's alive or dead. The whole show is about death. All I'm able to say is gobbledygook. I wanted to create a suspenseful sequence. I meant to make you feel, not think."
