Alexa Ray Joel has a new gig. The daughter of Rock 'N Roll Hall of Famer Billy Joel will play a nearly two-week engagement at New York City's The Cafe Carlyle beginning April 1.
The 28-year-old singer/songwriter will appear through April 12 at the venue inside The Carlyle hotel, with ticket prices ranging from $30 to $110.

A native New Yorker like her father, Alexa Ray Joel attended New York University as a freshman. She released an EP, "Sketches," in 2006. In September 2013, she released her interpretation of "Just the Way You Are," which became a standard for her dad when it came out in 1977.
Following in her famous mother Christie Brinkley's footsteps, Joel's career grew in 2010 when she was selected as the new spokeswoman for the Prell shampoo brand and her songs were used as the background music. Brinkley was the face of Prell in 1986.
Billy Joel is a six-time Grammy Award-winning artist and is playing a concert once a month at Madison Square Garden as
long as demand continues, according to The Huffington Post.
"I definitely believe that music is something that is in my blood,
something that I was born to do," Alexa Ray Joel told Chorus & Verse in 2006.
The singer is on a positive path after a series of private struggles. In April 2013, it was revealed that she refused to leave her apartment for months prior to the apprehension of an online predator. The perpetrator turned out to be a woman from Minnesota.
