Clooney appeared in court involving an appeal connected with Turkish Workers' Party leader Doğu Perinçek, who was convicted of denying the 1915 Armenian genocide in 2007,
reported The Independent. Perinçek had argued that his free speech right was violated when Swiss courts convicted him of denying the genocide.
The European Court of Human Rights initially ruled in Perincek's favor in December, 2013.
"(Clooney) has been involved in several major lawsuits, such as return of the Elgin Marbles from Great Britain to Greece, and defending Julian Assange of WikiLeaks and former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko," wrote Hurat Sassounian of the Huffington Post in December.
