Amy Schumer to LeBron James: 'We're Gonna Be Just Fine'

By    |   Thursday, 18 June 2015 06:42 AM EDT

Comedian Amy Schumer consoled LeBron James after his Cleveland Cavaliers fell this week to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA finals with a Twitter post saying, "We're gonna be just fine."

Schumer shared a picture of James, who appears in her upcoming movie "Trainwreck," the day after the Cleveland lost Game 6 to Golden State 105-97, giving the Warriors the NBA championship.

The loss denied James a chance to keep his promise to bring an NBA title to Cleveland. The city has not won a major professional sports title since the NFL Cleveland Browns won its championship beating the Baltimore Colts in 1964, according to The New York Times.

James made a Herculean effort in the series loss, averaging 35.8 points, 13.3 rebounds and 8.8 assists in the six games, noted the Times.

James plays himself in the Judd Apatow movie, which is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17.

"The buzz out of SXSW (where it was screened) is that LeBrown James is kind of a scene stealer in the upcoming Judd Apatow film, 'Trainwreck.' You may have seen the ads during the Finals," wrote NBC Sports' Kurt Helin. "Of course, even if LeBron is the best thing in the film, the movie's MVP award will be given to Bill Hader or Amy Schumer. That's just the way things go for LeBron lately."

James found another defender in former NBA champion Kobe Bryant, of the Los Angeles Lakers. Bryant supported James with a series of tweets on Sunday.
