Anthony Scaramucci wants a paternity test for his newborn son, The New York Post reported, citing a source who told its Page Six that the former White House communications director believes his estranged wife Deidre Ball was impregnated by someone else while he was out of town.
“Things are heating up in the divorce,” said the source, per Page Six. “He is actually contesting the paternity of the newborn, which is the same as dropping a hand grenade into any divorce action and possible amicable resolution, and Deidre strongly rejects his claim.”
The source added that Scaramucci would easily be proven wrong.
Ball had filed for divorce in July, while she was nine months pregnant with the couple’s second son, the Washington Examiner said.
The split came at the height of Scaramucci’s short-lived White House career, which was believed to have been a contributing factor for the divorce.
It has since emerged that Scaramucci wasn’t present for the child’s birth, but instead chose to attend Trump's speech at the 2017 Boy Scouts Jamboree.
The Examiner said he sent a text to Ball in the hospital saying, “congratulations, I’ll pray for our child.”
Scaramucci started his job at the White House on July 21 but was gone in days after a New Yorker magazine interview in which he used vulgar language to insult then-chief of staff Reince Priebus and then-chief strategist Steve Bannon, The Star said.
According to reports, Ball was horrified by Scaramucci’s claim that the child is not his and has enlisted the services of top Manhattan divorce attorneys to up the stakes of the divorce.
