Bill Murray: Bachelor Party Crashed by Actor With Sage Advice

By    |   Tuesday, 27 May 2014 05:15 PM EDT

Actor Bill Murray crashed a bachelor party at a steakhouse in Charleston, South Carolina, over the Memorial Day weekend and offered a spontaneous bit of advice to everyone but the bachelor.

"You know how funerals are not for the dead, they're for the living? Bachelor parties are not for the groom, they're for the unmarried," Murray said according to a video posted on a YouTube.

"I'm going to give you all advice because it's too late for this guy," Murray said. “If you have someone that you think is The One, don’t just sort of think in your ordinary mind, ‘OK, let’s pick a date. Let’s plan this and make a party and get married,’” Murray said. “Take that person and travel around the world. Buy a plane ticket for the two of you to travel all around the world … and go to places that are hard to go to and hard to get out of. And if when you come back to JFK, when you land in JFK, and you’re still in love with that person, get married at the airport.”

Earlier in the evening, one of the party-goers from Boston College recognized Murray and offered to send him drinks, according to the New York Daily News.

The actor, who is known for his work in “Saturday Night Live” and “Ghostbusters,” declined but later showed up to offer his advice.

Fans reacted with delight on Twitter.
