Brooklyn's U.S. Rep. Yvette Clarke predicted during her town hall meeting on Wednesday that President Donald Trump's impeachment was near.
She said at her meeting in Brooklyn's Prospect Heights neighborhood that Trump's presidency was the product of an "illegally hacked, illegitimate election," reported the New York Observer, which noted the Senate Intelligence Committee is currently conducting a probe into Russia's attempt to influence the past presidential election.
"All of the ducks are beginning to line up," Clarke told her town hall audience. "They are really beginning to line up around this presidency and I will just say to you, it won't be long."
Clarke admitted to the crowd, though, according to the Prospect Heights Patch website, "We'll never know what the outcome could have been without Russia."
Clarke described the Trump administration as "fascist" and "tyrannical."
"This is an intolerable combination; indeed, it is dangerous," Clarke said, according to the Caribbean Media Corporation. "(Trump's) executive orders have been issued without a plan for implementation, a 'make it up as we go along' mentality that has resulted in anxiety, panic and chaos at our airports, and in our very communities among our neighbors."
"The duplicitous nature of Donald Trump and his aides puts us all at risk, especially when his aides describe their version of the truth as 'alternative facts.'"
Clarke charged that while some Republican legislators up for re-election are "intimidated" into supporting Trump because the president could support their primary challengers, that they will eventually "jump ship," said the Observer.
